⚡NEW - ELECTRICITY GENERATION (01-Apr-2025): Turkey’s installed electricity generation capacity rose to nearly 118 GW by March 2025, up 10 GW from the same time last year. Renewables make up over 60% of total capacity. Power generation was up 2.5% year-on-year on a last-twelve-month basis.

NEW - OIL INDUSTRY (27-Mar-2025): Turkey imported 3.8M tons of oil in January 2025, with crude oil making up most of it (2.4M tons), plus diesel (1.0M tons) and 0.4M tons of other oil products. On the retail side, Petrol Ofisi, Shell, and OPET leading the market. In aviation, TFS is the top player.

🚘 NEW - LPG INDUSTRY (27-Mar-2025): In January 2025 (LTM), Turkey imported 3.6M tons of LPG , down from 3.8M tons the year before, while domestic production increased to 931K tons. Total LPG consumption held steady at 4.1M tons, with autogas making up 3.4M tons.

🏠 NEW - TURKISH GAS INDUSTRY (27-Mar-2025): Turkey’s underground gas storage declined to 4.1BN sm³ in January 2025 (~7.5% of annual consumption). The country consumed a total of 54.6BN sm³ of natural gas over the last 12 months.

🚛📦THIRD ITERATION! - DIGINAK - Turkish Transportation Ecosystem (25-Mar-2025): (NEW) Interesting dynamics emerging on the Middle Eastern border – customs posts there now account for a growing share of overall traffic. With the situation in Syria evolving, we’re penciling in an extra 250K–275K one-way truck/trailer movements. That’s a big bump and could reshape regional freight flows. Also worth watching: the five-year bull run in air freight looks to be hitting a ceiling. If that breaks, expect sea freight to pick up the slack first, with road transport not far behind. Could be the beginning of a modal rebalancing in Turkey’s outbound logistics...

🚗 NEW - AUTO / MOTORWAY VEHICLES (18-Mar-2025): As of February 2025, Turkey's total car fleet reached 16.4M. In February alone, 68k unit (circa 100 tons in weight) new cars were registered. Soil friendly sales were 39k in total (less then Beşiktaş Park seat capacity), with hybrids accounting for 28% (19k) of total sales and electric vehicles making up 15% (10k). The cumulative combined share of hybrid and electric vehicles has now risen to 3.9% (+1.5% y/y).

✈️ NEW - TURKISH AIRPORTS (14-Mar-2025): February 2025 figures are released by State Airports Authority. International aircraft activity remained stable, while domestic operations were hit by weather conditions in February (-13.4% for aircracts and -9.9% for pax volume y/y) . Freight and cargo traffic continues to grow.

🏗️ NEW - CONSTRUCTION & HOUSING MARKET (13-Mar-2025): TurkStat released data on February 2025 residential sales… 113k residential units were sold in February across the country (+20% increase year-over-year). (Despite being still low) mortgage sales doubled compared to the previous year, reaching 17k in February 2025, up from 9k in February 2024. Real returns on residential prices remain negative, while construction costs have relatively stabilized compared to the sharp increases seen in recent years.
